In the RTS genre of gaming, there are different mods developed by the community. Some overhaul the entire gameplay from the developers while some add some features that were not present from the original developers.

There are mods that have been excellent that fans of RTS game mods have enjoyed. I personally find Total Conversion mod for Star Craft very excellent. It completely overhauls the game's units and factions.
