I have encountered this menace multiple times. To be honest, it can be so overwhelming. What it does to me is paralyze all my activities. I mean, I wasn't able to do anything. So, I watched tutorials where I discovered that it can be tackled with exercise and meditation. I eventually got an impressive result with this.
 
Anime and video games, its the best thing to make me forget about the BS of the real world easy enough.
 
We never can sidestep the importance of adding exercise to our routine if we are having anxiety issues. I think it helped to release the tension. One more important solution I found is sleep. Yes, you heard me right! A peaceful sleep is a good remedy for anxiety.
 
A friend of mine suffers from this and he uses mindfulness apps like Calm and Headspace to calm himself. Connecting with nature like hiking or walking also works wonders. They are truly lifesavers.

I find walks to be nice if you can just focus on things around you and don't worry about anything ongoing.
 
Whenever anxiety sets in, I take a deep breath and count to ten. It helps calm me down. I also try to either sketch or spend time with my pet. if I feel that the pressure is mounting, I switched to my favourite song.
