View attachment 104The eagerly awaited release of Star Wars Outlaws may face a potential delay, pushing it into the next fiscal year, reported on Eat Sleep Game Repeat. Recent insights from Ubisoft's financial report allude to the postponement of a 'large game,' impacting the anticipated launch schedule.

Ubisoft's robust performance in Q2, coupled with the positive momentum of its brands, instils confidence for the remainder of the year. The company reaffirms its commitment to strong top-line growth with an income of approximately €400 million. Interestingly, the report omits details about the delayed 'large game' slated for the final quarter of the current fiscal year. Instead, Ubisoft plans to unveil this mystery title in FY2024-25, strategically aiming to maximize its value creation.

Access the full financial report here.

Despite the careful language of the report, deciphering the exact details becomes a challenge without explicitly identifying the game in question. Speculation is rife, with many pointing to the possibility that this delayed title may be the much-anticipated Star Wars: Outlaws. It's important to note that, as of the current writing, no official confirmation has been made.

A tweet from Kotaku's senior reporter, Ethan Gach, adds fuel to the speculation fire, suggesting that the elusive 'large game' may indeed be Star Wars: Outlaws. If this information holds true, fans may need to brace themselves for a potential release post-April 2024.

Star Wars: Outlaws is touted as the 'first open-world Star Wars game,' offering a ground-breaking experience. Set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, players can explore diverse planets, both iconic and new. Assume the role of Kay Vess, a scoundrel seeking freedom and a fresh start, accompanied by her partner Nix. Navigate the galaxy's crime syndicates, engaging in fights, heists, and strategic manoeuvres to become one of the galaxy's most wanted.

For those ready to embrace the risk, the galaxy is a realm of endless opportunity. Learn more about the game on Ubisoft's official website.

It's crucial to emphasize that the delay of Star Wars: Outlaws remains unconfirmed, and the information presented is based on speculation and rumour. Nonetheless, the potential delay of one of the most anticipated Star Wars games is undeniably disappointing. Stay tuned for further updates as the saga unfolds.

Outlaws looks like it will be an absolute blast! An open world Star Wars game (not running around swishing lightsabers) is what we (yes I speak for everyone) have been waiting for.

That was anticipated beforehand. When Kotaku revealed that Ubisoft was working on a Star Wars game, they said that they had heard from insiders that the title would be "delayed" to the financial year that followed meaning that launching it in 2023 was unrealistic. But hey, guess we will have to wait for the fun!
