Emulators

Do you like to use emulators to play old games? Or do you prefer to play games on real hardware? I like both myself, when it comes to playing certain games I prefer to use a emulator since it's easier for me to record footage on, plus I can play games at faster speeds so if I'm playing a rpg and I need to grind I can use frameskipping to make the process faster. I do own a elgato video capture device now though, as soon as I'm feeling better I plan on hooking up one of my consoles and recording gameplay off real hardware.
