Do you think Beyond All Reason is going to dethrone Supreme Commander?

I’ve heard people argue that Beyond All Reason has displaced Supreme Commander due to its improved gameplay. BAR has indeed improved graphics and the controls are extremely easy too. People tend to like it because of its simplicity. But the players who like complex gameplay will still prefer Supreme Commander. The BAR community is growing so quickly and that is responsible for its increasing popularity.
 
Nah. Two very different games. As different as Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander. TA did action RTS really well. It was tactical. Supreme Commander was more strategic.
 
Beyond All Reason is truly an amazing game because it's modern and in all ramifications, we can't really compare the modern tech to the old-school. It's fun and very easy to play unlike Supreme Commander. Don't get me wrong. I’m not totally discrediting Supreme and Commander, it's still hold up today. But we just have to give it to BAR’s awesome graphics and units.
 
I don't think we need to debate on which one is the best. What we need to look at is their uniquiness. New players can master BAR easily but Supreme Commander is for the expert because of its challenging gameplay. In a nutshell, both offer unique fun.

BAR is build on the old Total Annihilation from 1997. It's been around for 20 years. It's not modern.

It's true! Of course,. it's been around for a long time but my point is that its simplicity is still very appealing to new players. There is always something new to discover each time I play it.

I think they both have different appeal and I do not think Beyond All Reason will dethrone Supreme Commander. As far as I am concerned, Supreme Commander’s complex gameplay still holds unmatched appeal despite BAR’s growing community.
